An application for an injunction against the closures of the courthouses in St. Stephen and Grand Manan will be heard in the Court of Queens Bench tomorrow morning.
The Charlotte County Barristers Society is fighting the closures. Lawyer David Bartlett of Saint Andrews says it will be difficult to attend court in Saint John if you live in St. Stephen and don’t have a car since there is no public transportation.
Bartlett says the provincial government wants to save money with the closures but, in the process, is creating a dysfunctional and inefficient system.
