There’s more to the water agreement passed unanimously by Common Council last Friday than just constructing a water treatment plant on the east side. Water Commissioner Bill Edwards says there will be a reconfiguration so heavy industry doesn’t get treated water.
The water budget comes before Common Council tonight with a proposed increase in the flat charge for water next year of 72 dollars, up to 12 hundred and 24 dollars. The projected water rates will rise to almost 14 hundred dollars a year by 2019.
Councillors are also being asked to approve a 10 per cent increase in spending on roads.
