The provincial Conservatives are redirecting their fire from New Brunswick’s official languages commissioner to the Gallant Government in the case of Fredericton Commisionaire Wayne Grant.
His hours were cut in the spring after he was unable to speak French when approached by Katherine D’Entremont at the main government office in Fredericton.
She told Interim Conservative Leader Bruce Fitch she hasn’t made any recommendations in the Grant matter and it’s not up to her to tell government departments what to do.
The Conservatives are now charging it was the Gallant Government jumping the gun and not the Language Commissioner even though tey don’t condone the way she has conducted the investigation.
