Although the Saint John Transit Commission is under budget, more needs to be done.
That from the Transit Commission Chair Donna Reardon.
Reardon says the only reason the commission is under budget is because of the reduction in service hours and the increase of bus fares.
She doubts people are happy with the current service.
Reardon says reducing service hours doesn’t help people who can’t afford a car, ultimately taking them out of the work force.
She says the commission hopes to look at transit and parking together, in hopes of linking the two together somehow.
As of September, the Saint John Transit Commission is under budget by just over $25,000.
