If you live in Quispamsis, you can expect a hold the line budget next month as town council holds its budget deliberations. That word coming from Mayor Murray Driscoll as the town grapples with a $200,000 deficit caused, in large part, by the snowplowing costs last winter.
Driscoll says what the tax rate will be is unsettled even though town council has to decide whether or not to accept a recommendation for an increase of over 3 cents. The tax rate now is at $1.25 but Driscoll warns there will be the additional cost of curbside garbage pickup and recycling next year.
The proposed town budget will be unveiled on December 9th.
