Saint John Energy is warning its customers about a phone scam on what are thought to be 1-800 numbers.
If you get this call, a person demands a payment by credit card or their service will be disconnected within a half hour or less.
Several local businesses have been targeted with this scam.
Saint John Energy is not making these calls and no one else is making them for them.
If you get a call, contact the City police fraud unit at 648-3333.
