The Saint John Sea Dogs launching their annual reading program in partnership with Canaport LNG and the Anglophone South School District.
Zoe Watson is the Superintendent of the Anglophone South School District, she says it’s important for kids to develop a passion for reading at an early age.
Watson says when students finish reading three book, their names will go into a draw for a chance at winning Sea Dog tickets.
Sea Dogs defenceman Adam Bateman spoke to the kids at Princess Elizabeth School about the importance of reading.
Denise Long is the Community School Coordinator at Princess Elizabeth School, she says the program involves a great team effort.
Long says the community support is excellent.
She says it’s important for students to get the foundation for learning in kindergarten to grade two.
