Common Council meeting in closed session today for more budget deliberations after the provincial government announces Saint John will be receiving over a million dollars less in grant money next year at just under 20 million dollars.
All of the outlying communities will be receiving more. Grand Bay-Westfield will be receiving 69 thousand dollars more, almost 55 thousand dollars more for Quispamsis, 27 hundred dollars more for Rothesay and an additional 48 hundred dollars for Hampton.
The town of Sussex will be getting 112 thousand dollars more in grant money and St. Stephen over 196 thousand dollars in additional revenue from community and equalisation grants.
