Christmas parties are often on the schedule for December which serves as a reminder of planning ahead if you are going to be drinking.
Spokesperson for MADD Canada Chris Nagle says impaired driving is still a major problem across the country.
“Impaired driving now accounts for about 42% of all road crash fatalities, on average four Canadians are killed each and every day and 175 are injured,” says Nagle.
Nagle says prevention is easy, if you’re hosting a party, make sure you have plenty of food and both alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages available.
If someone is intoxicated, ensure that they get a ride home.
