The Steeves family is looking to set a world record for their family reunion next year.
The Steeves 250 Family Celebration is being held in Moncton and Hillsborough next July, which marks 250 years since the family arrived in Moncton in 1766.
There are estimated to be 250-thousand Steeves family descendants of that original family living around the world.
The highlight of the week long celebration is a gathering at the Moncton Coliseum where they will try to set a new world record for the most people with the same surname.
Event Chairperson Gary Steeves says they are expecting over 10-thousand Steeves family descendants will attend.
