A meeting held in Grand Bay-Westfield giving the public a chance to express their opinions regarding the possible closures of Morna Heights, Grand Bay Primary and Inglewood Schools.
Mayor Grace Losier says she would love to see the schools combine into a new school that would hold roughly 300 students for kindergarten to grade 5.
She says the community of Grand Bay-Wesfield has been working towards a new school since 2009 and says it’s a school the children deserve.
The Anglophone South District Education Council will take the information given to them by the public and make a recommendation to Education Minister Serge Rouselle by January 13th.
DEC Chair Rob Fowler says a location will be decided after, and if, the school is approved by the provincial government.
