The leader of the People’s Alliance saying they would support an investigation into Dr. Eilish Cleary’s firing as called for by NDP Leader Dominic Cardy.
Kris Austin tells us if the Gallant Government was smart they would either re-instate Dr, Cleary or explain to the people why this decision was made.
In a statement Dr. Cleary said that the provincial government let her know they have come to the conclusion that her particular skill set doesn’t meet the needs of her employer. She was appointed to the position in 2008. Austin says “why is it now, all of a sudden, her skill set no longer matches that of what the government requires? It’s the most preposterous excuse, pathetic excuse that I’ve heard in my tenure here as a politician.”
Austin says we have a right to know why the decision was made to fire Dr. Cleary.
We have reached out to the provincial Department of Health for comment however we have not heard back as of this time.
