The Mounties revealing that four of their own from the Woodstock area have been suspended following an internal probe of discreditable conduct.
A news release says information came forward that started the investigation resulting in three suspensions in early November and a fourth member from the area was suspended this morning.
The RCMP’s Major Crime Unit has been brought in to determine if there are any crimes relating to whatever they are accused of doing.
The KV Regional Police Force will be providing independent oversight.
The Provincial Commanding Officer of the RCMP, Roger Brown, says the conduct of their members is rightfully held to a higher standard.
He says these suspensions are troubling but he can assure the public they take these matters very seriously.
All four officers are suspended with pay but suspension without pay is being pursued in some cases.
