There has been overwhelming support for the Syrian refugees who will be coming to Canada.
New Brunswickers are inquiring as to how they can help make the refugees feel at home.
If you have clothing to donate, it can be done on December 12th.
Managing Director of the Multicultural Council Alex Leblanc says they’ve formed a partnership with the Association for Community Living to hold a province wide clothing drive.
They’re looking for bags of gently used clothing, household items, and children’s toys. For each bag of clothing, funds will be donated to MAGMA to help with the Syrian refugee resettlement.
The newcomers will also be able to visit their local Value Village store and select the items they need to get started here in New Brunswick, for free.
Donations are being accepted in Moncton at NBCC on Mountain Road.
In Saint John, donations can be made at Habitat for Humanity ReStore on Rothesay Avenue.
In Fredericton, members of the Multicultural Association of Fredericton (MCAF) and Community Living representatives will be on hand at the NBACL offices, 800 Hanwell Road.
