The Atlantica Centre for Energy releasing a new poll on shale gasĀ that was done by Corporate Research Associates.
It reveals, provincially, 52 per cent of people surveyed completely or mostly support shale gas development, up from 41 per cent in 2014. The percentage of people who oppose shale gas has declined to 38 per cent from 45 per cent last year.
Breaking it down regionally, in southern New Brunswick, 50 per cent are in support with 37 per cent opposed and 13 per cent say they don’t know.
Support for shale gas is slightly higher in the Moncton area at 52 per cent with 39 per cent opposed.
