Saint John fire crews called early this morning to the Peel Plaza Law Courts building to put out an electrical fire.
Dave Maclean is the Communications Director for the Department of Justice, he says the building will be closed for the remainder of the week.
Maclean says the fire occurred in an area where batteries are kept incase the buildings power is interrupted.
He says air quality is being tested to ensure chemicals in the batteries aren’t in the air.
Maclean says tests will be done to make sure the air quality is safe for staff and the public.
He says court appearances have been rescheduled for the Trade and Convention Centre for the remainder of the week.
