The grand opening of the upgraded Rothesay Common will be taking place just before Christmas on December 21st at 6:30.
The upgrade cost 2.2 million dollars and includes new drainage to dry out low-lying swampy areas as well as a rock lining for the stream bed, new pathways, a larger play area for young children, new playground equipment, a revised skating oval, a service building, outdoor stage and ice plant.
Not everybody in the town was in favour and nearby resident Jim Crosby went to court to no avail to stop the project from proceeding.
