The Elementary Literacy Program continues to grow in all school districts.
The program is now available in 84% of the provinces elementary schools.
Program Manager Catherine Barry says they currently have over 512 volunteers who help hundreds of students.
“It’s really providing those students who benefit some additional time to read and work on those skills and build their confidence,” says Barry.
Since 2012, over 1,600 New Brunswickers have mentored over 2,100 students across the province.
The program is in need of even more volunteers for their upcoming training session in January.
