Donna Moore of Dobbin Street in Rothesay is fit to be tied over her property being flooded.
Moore says the torrential rainstorm of September 30th dumped 7 inches of sewage laden water in her basement and the back of her property resembling a lake. The town called it a sanitary sewer flood.
Moore blames the town’s storm drainage system not being able to handle increased commercial development because her house was bone dry for 40 years.
Meantime, Rothesay Council is withholding approval, for the time being, of a proposal to build a fourth commercial building at 47 Clark Road close to where Moore lives and a proposed 16 home subdivision on Appleby Drive. Residents who live nearby are expressing concern over water runoff, increased traffic and the possibility of sewage backing up.
