If you haven’t yet, it’s time to make sure both you and your vehicle are ready for the cold winter months.
Gary Howard is the spokesperson for CAA Atlantic, he says there’s a checklist to keep in mind before heading out on the icy roads.
He says to make sure you have snow tires on your car and to check your car batterT to ensure it will be sufficient for the winter weather.
Howard says an emergency kit should be in your vehicle that includes things like a toque, blanket, flashlights, a first aid kit and a road flare.
He says it’s always a good idea to let someone know when your leaving and what route you take, so they know what time to expect you.
Howard says to always carry a charged cell phone on you when driving through winter conditions.
