A revised application has been filed with the National Energy Board with changes to the proposed Energy East pipeline.
The revised application includes 700 route changes to the project with the estimated cost increasing to 15.7 billion dollars, up from 12 billion.
Trans Canada says the changes are being made in response to environmental concerns but will result in increased employment opportunities and economic benefits.
It also says the pipeline will replace the need for more than 15 hundred rail cars of crude oil a day to Eastern Canada.
