Mayor Mel Norton says the finances of the city are in good shape as Common Council meets for the final time this year with a municipal election coming up in May.
Mel Norton says there’s still work to be done before that which includes provincial funding for the City market and moving ahead with both provincial and federal funding for the field house at Exhibition Park. Project leader Bill MacMackin is hoping to start construction sometime next year.
Norton says Council should be proud of what it did to fix roads in the city and claims every road should be up to standard by the end of the decade.
