Getting people back and forth from Partridge Island isn’t the only issue to be dealt with.
There’s the matter of 35 thousand cubic meters of contaminated soil that would have to be cleaned up.
That’s the equivalent of 3 thousand dump truck loads.
Historian Harold Wright says a cleanup would be an expensive proposition.
Despite the cost, Wright says he’s confident the issue can be dealt with.

He concedes the cleanup could cost literally millions of dollars.
