The call for a food bank in Saint Andrews is being made, with volunteers asked to come forward with ideas.
St. Andrews resident Holly Johnson says if you’re interested in helping out in the creation of a local food bank, tonight will be open for brainstorming.
She tells us, along with another Saint Andrews resident, Mary Jones, they have organized a meeting for tonight beginning at 7pm, at the Saint Andrews Catholic Church Parish Hall.
Johnson says this is something we need in Saint Andrews, “And it’s not just Saint Andrews, it’s the surrounding communities as well. So people from Waweig, Bocabec, Bayside and Chamcook will be able to make use of the Saint Andrews Food Bank services as well.”
Coordinator for the Volunteer Centre of Charlotte County in St. Stephen, Donna Linton, will be the guest speaker for tonight.
Johnson says anyone who wants to volunteer, or has any ideas on creating the food bank are welcome to come forward.
