Common Council tonight will consider asking the province to name the new school that will be constructed on the west side after the late Vic Fitzgerald who passed away last month.
He served one term on Common Council but Fitzgerald also worked in the city’s Recreation Department for 35 years, served for 40 years as a baseball coach and administrator, as a Director of the North End Food Bank and a Director of the Somerset Community Centre.
The school is scheduled to open in September of 2017 to replace Havelock, St. Patrick’s and Seawood.
