The future home of the Social Enterprise Hub on Prince Edward Street keeps changing as construction continues.
Seth Asimakos of the Saint John Community Loan Fund tells us they benefited from a great winter for building losing only two days due to storms.
When it opens in late summer, the Hub will include the Loan Fund, the Learning Exchange and its two businesses, the Human Development Council and more.
Asimakos says the benefit of clustering is that you come up with bigger, better ideas to affect changes when you have like-minded non profits working under the same roof.
He says the social enterprise hub concept is not new in North America as they have them in Winnipeg and Toronto but it’s a newer concept for this region and to have it take place among non-profit groups.
