The Queen will celebrate a milestone birthday tomorrow.
Queen Elizabeth the second turns 90 years old today.
Senior Spokesperson for the Monarchist League in Atlantic Canada Barry Mackenzie says the trend in Canada has always been to celebrate the Sovereign’s birthday on or around Victoria Day in May, but there may be some festivities at Buckingham Palace tomorrow, “There’s the old story that her favourite dessert is dundee cake, which is like a heavy fruit cake, so maybe the Chef has made her a dundee cake.”
He says she doesn’t even take the day off for her special day, “It’s business as usual like you or I, she doesn’t generally take a holiday for these types of things. They’ll maybe just open up an extra bottle of the bust bubbly to celebrate her 90th.”
Mackenzie says it’s a milestone birthday not just because she is turning 90. The fact that she is still working is definitely something to raise a glass to.
