The Gallant government wants New Brunswick to become the smart province.
In order for that to become a reality, Premier Brian Gallant says people need to be educated and properly trained and the recent tuition announcement was a part of a strategy to achieve that goal.
“Through some tough decisions in our first few budgets, we were able to gain the fiscal capacity to make an historic announcement and investment in ensuring low income families, and middle class families will be able to access university and college in New Brunswick,” says Gallant.
He says the government will be investing in research and innovation in the months to come.
“Through the education and new economy fund we’ll be making investments to ensure we have a skilled workforce, and educated people here in New Brunswick,” says Gallant.
He adds those investments will serve multiple purposes.
“I think investments in research are great examples of how, at the same time, we can grow the economy, create jobs, improve the quality of life for New Brunswickers and even save money for the government of New Brunswick so we can invest in our collective priorities,” says Gallant.
Gallant says New Brunswick has world class colleges and universities, and with the Tuition Access Bursary, more students can afford to become educated, which is nothing but good news for the future of the province.
