You may spot a familiar sight if you travel to Cavendish PEI this summer.
The roller coaster from the now closed Crystal Palace has a new home.
Most of the rides were purchased by Maritime Fun Group when the indoor amusement park closed in 2014.
Some of them stayed in Moncton at Magic Mountain but President for the Group in PEI Matthew Jelley, says they had the perfect spot for the coaster at Shining Waters.
He says the experience is a little bit different at the new location.
“Previously you couldn’t always quite follow it because it was darting in and out behind rides, and outside of rides,” says Jelley. “New perspective, new views, same family fun. You’ll have the advantage of being up a little higher with nothing around you, and there’ll actually be a paddle boat pond in the centre of the ride.”
Jelley adds it’s a perfect fit for Shining Waters.
“The turns, and the ups and the downs, no changes to that, frankly when you look at it, it looks like it was designed for this location,” says Jelley.
It used to be known as the Bullet but Jelley says they have changed the name slightly to fit with their pirate theme.
It is now known as the Buchaneer Bay Bullet.
