Saint John police are investigating a stabbing after being called out to the Regional Hospital over the weekend.
Sergeant Lori Magee says a 25-year-old man received a non-life threatening stab wound to his lower torso which required surgery. She says the man isn’t being cooperative with the police investigation and it’s not believed the stabbing was a random act.
Also, on Friday morning, police were called out to Marlin Drive for a young person who had an axe and damaged the casing of a door trying to get into his mother’s house. A 16-year-old boy was taken into custody after a brief struggle with police and he was arrested for possession of a weapon, assault on a police officer, mischief and probation violation.
Police are also investigating a fire at a home on Rothesay Road which caused moderate damage but Sgt. Magee says it’s not believed to be suspicious.
