Six candidates are running for Councillor at Large in Saint John. Two of them will be elected and one will, in all liklihood, become the deputy mayor.
One of the candidates is John Campbell, a member of the Transit Commission who’s part of a pilot project aimed at modernising the bus system. He says there’s a need to collect hard data before deciding on any changes to the bus system.
Campbell argues smaller 24 passenger buses that are less expensive to run and could be used on the routes that are not as busy
He also supports water meters so people pay for the amount of water they use.
