A man who found the help he needed at Harvest House in Moncton plans to travel across the country this summer spreading hope and love to others who are homeless and struggling with addiction.
Dave Mitchell says he had a pretty normal life, but he had a bad break up in his thirties and he lost everything.
“Turned to alcohol and drugs to kind of comfort my pain and I ended up getting addicted to painkillers. And I was on the street living in a homeless shelter and I lived that way for five years,” he notes.
He has been clean for almost a year now and he says it’s because of the love and help he received at the shelter.
He wants to do the same for others and will cross Canada this summer with his friend Andre Foulem talking to others who are homeless and battling addiction.
They hope to use their music to inspire others through faith and support.
