Living without food and technology would be a struggle for many youth, but more than 70 of them in Moncton will give it all up to raise awareness for those in less fortunate countries who live without.
It’s an event hosted by World Vision and Organizer Juliana Hisey says it raises awareness within communities about the different struggles around the world, and gives youth a chance to make a difference, “It’s a 30 hour famine, and it’s an event that World Vision does every year. Basically, groups of youth come together and they fast for 30 hours from food, technology and furniture.”
She says this is an important event to help youth realize what it is like for those who don’t have the luxuries that we do, like food and electronics. It also gives them a chance to raise money for those in less fortunate countries who need our help.
The event raises money and awareness to help World Vision’s Hunger alleviation program in Kenya and South Sudan.
