A recent Ipsos Reid poll has found Atlantic Canadians are more likely than the rest of the country to find going to the gym intimidating.
Maureen Hagan of Goodlife Fitness says there’s a few reasons why.
Hagan says they feel intimidated going to the gym, and the main reasons are because they don’t know anyone, or they don’t know what they’re doing.
The survey found some respondents said that going to the gym was scarier then the first day of a new job or meeting their in-laws for the first time.
Over half of Canadians say going to the gym with a friend would make them more comfortable.
