The Battle of the Atlantic will be remembered tomorrow in Saint John and across the country.
Every year on the first Sunday in May, Canada and it’s naval community honour those lost in the longest single campaign of World War Two.
By the end of the war, Canada’s navy has grown to become one of the largest in the world and was instrumental in turning the tide of the war.
The Royal Canadian Navy destroyed or shared in the destruction of 33 U-boats and 42 enemy surface craft.
More than 2200 were killed and they lost 33 vessel in the 6 year battle.
A service is being held at the Cathedral at 10am followed by a waterside wreath service at HMCS Brunswicker at 11:30am
