The rumblings going around for months were true.
Outgoing Saint John Mayor Mel Norton is seeking the leadership of Provincial Conservative party.
An official annoucement is coming up on Wednesday afternoon at the Delta.
A very brief media release featuring a smiling Norton says “It’s time for leadership in New Brunswick”.
Norton surprised many when he announced back in January that he would not seek re-election as Mayor of Saint John.
At the time he said he was it was time to return to private life.
Tonight is his last Common Council meeting as Mayor.
