It’s been three months since the provincial Liberals announced they would hire four midwives in New Brunswick.
Sonya Burrill, the Chair of NB Families for Midwives says the provincial government hasn’t even hired one yet.
She says the location of where the practice will be located hasn’t been announced either.
Burrill calls the lack of initial first steps “very disappointing”.
She says anymore delays isn’t acceptable to the women and families who have waited for eight years for this to happen.
Burrill says she hears from women all the time who are pregnant and desperately want a midwife.
