He represented Ward 2 for one term and he’s hoping to represent all of Saint John after Monday.
Gary Sullivan is running for Councillor at Large and he tells CHSJ News the current council had a more professional business-like approach but he says they didn’t do well when it comes to the nitty gritty of the economy.
He says the fact they we are a few thousand jobs shorter than we were when this council took office and indicators like housing prices
which are the lifeblood of a municipal economy where they get their revenue from property tax based on your assessment value.
Sullivan says the turning point in his decision to offer his name again for Common Council came when his property assessment went down and not up.
He says that indicates the city is in trouble.
