In the National Basketball League playoffs, Moncton scored 35 points in the 4th quarter for a 97-89 win over the Mill Rats to tie up their first round playoff series at a game a piece. Saint John shot just 38% for the game and only 26% from the three point line. Gabe Freeman was the top scorer for the Mill Rats with 18 points.
In the NBA playoffs, the Raptors beat the Miami Heat 96-92 in overtime to tie up the Eastern Conference series at one game each.
In the NHL playoffs, Cody Eakin scored at 2:58 of overtime to give Dallas a 3-2 win over St. Louis to tie the series at 2 games each….. Mike Fisher scored his second goal at 11:12 of the third overtime in Nashville’s 4-3 win over San Jose to tie up that series at two games each.
In the Majors, Edwin Encarnacion homered, doubled twice and drove in six runs as the Toronto Blue Jays beat up on Texas 12-2…. Dustin Pedroia, Hanley Ramirez and Jackie Bradley Jr. all homered to lead Boston to a 7-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox….Baltimore blanked the Yankees 1-0 in 10 innings with the winning run scored on a sacrifice fly. In a big National League matchup, the Chicago Cubs downed Washington 5-2 to improve to 21 and 6, their best start since 1907.
