There are now four options under consideration on the future of the Mactaquac Dam now that NB Power is more confident the generating station might be able to produce electricity beyond 2030.
The other three options are to leave the dam in place without power being produced, removing both the dam and generating station or building a new generating station. Those options range in cost from 2 billion up to 5 billion dollars.
Public meetings will be held later this morning in Fredericton, Mactaquac and Woodstock.
