Not much change with unemployment rate for the country as a whole in April. It stood at 7.1 per cent.
There was better news for New Brunswick where employment increased last month by 39 hundred jobs. The provincial unemployment rate fell to 9.6 per cent, a decrease of .6 per cent. Despite the increase in April, employment for the province is down by 45 hundred year over year.
In Saint John, the unemployment rate rose a bit from 8.3 to 8.4 per cent while in Moncton, it went from 6.9 up to 7.2 per cent.
