The wildfire in Fort McMurray is expected to double in size by tonight.
A Saint Johner living in Fort McMurray is on his way home today after help from Saint John-Rothesay MP Wayne Long and Greyhound.
The bus service is sending Jake Love home free of charge.
Jake’s mom Tammy says he lost his ID after being evacuated out of the area on a bus.
Tammy says she was worried about her son, who had no money or ID, when she couldn’t get through to the Red Cross because the phone lines were busy.
After calling Saint John-Rothesay MP Wayne Long he called her back within 45 minutes and the following day had sent Jake a new ID card.
Tammy says Jake wants to move back to Fort McMurray when the fire is out and help with repairs.
