The mayoral race in Saint John became a two horse race last night with Don Darling coming out on top over Shelley Rinehart.
Darling says he’s looking forward to taking over as mayor at City Hall.

He says there’s a number of files he has to come up to speed on and noted that some incumbent councillors coming back will allow the city to continue the good work they’ve been able to do over the past four years.

Darling says since day one of his campaign he made one promise, and that was to focus on the concept of grow SJ.
He says he’s very proud of the campaign he and his team ran.
The rest of Common Council will be made up of Councillors Greg Norton and Blake Armstrong in Ward 1.
John McKenzie and Sean Casey in Ward 2.
Gerry Lowe and Donna Reardon in Ward 3.
Ray Strowbridge and David Merrithew is Ward 4.
The Councillors at Large will be Shirley McAlary and Gary Sullivan.
McAlary will become Deputy Mayor.
