New Brunswick is making efforts to help those affected by the wildfire in Alberta.
Premier Brian Gallant spoke today about what is being done to help both Albertans and New Brunswickers.
He says all four Atlantic Provinces are donating a total of $250,000, of which New Brunswick’s share is $75,000.
“We are going to set up a phone line and portal here in New Brunswick. This will be for people who may find themselves working in Fort McMurray or Alberta that are now coming back to New Brunswick or are still out there and they are looking for some of their things being renewed such as a birth certificate or health card. We will do this free of charge,” he notes.
Gallant added they are also sending a team of 20 firefighters to help battle the ongoing blaze.
