Benoit Lebel is walking with a heavy backpack across Canada this year for a worthy cause.
The Quebec man has raised $2,500 so far and his goal is to reach $30,000 for the Children’s Wish Foundation.
Currently walking through southern New Brunswick, Lebel says he wants to ensure children who are seriously ill can have their dreams come true.
“So the choice was easy to make. I approached them. And for me, it’s kind of the backpacking trip I never did when I was 20 years old that I’m doing right now. It’s kind of a dream,” he notes.
Lebel notes he trained for the long trip by walking more than 4,000 kilometres last year.
