The City has given an update on the boil water order which is still in place for users east of Reversing Falls and will be likely until at least Friday.
Saint John Water has flushed the system, started testing the water and handing over the results to the Department of Health to be reviewed. The boil water order will only be lifted when two clean water tests no less than 24 hours apart are reported to Public Health.
Saint John Water is also working to address what caused the chlorinator failure and make sure it doesn’t happen again.
The boil water order impacts roughly 45,000 which represents about 60-percent of the city’s customer base.
