The Mounties want to speak with the driver of an ATV spotted around the site of a derailment near Plaster Rock this week which police say happened as the result of a deliberate act.
On Monday it was reported a CN train derailed in Sisson Ridge but, fortunately, no one was hurt and the eight cars that went off the track stayed right side up and were intact. An older model four wheeler with very bright LED headlights and a basket on the front was seen near the tracks in the overnight hours.
Police say the basket was either white or light-coloured or could be metal.
Police want to the driver of the ATV to get in touch with them and they ask anyone who has information about the derailment to do the same. To contact RCMP call 1-888-506-7267 or you can give information anonymously through Crime Stoppers at www.crimenb.ca, 1-800-222-8477 or by texting TIP212 + your message to CRIMES (274637).
Mounties say any info that leads to the arrest of the person or persons resposible could qualify you for a cash award of $2000.
