In the NHL playoffs……Joe Pavelski scored his franchise record tying ninth goal of the playoffs as San Jose shut out Nashville 5-0 to win the seventh and deciding game. The Sharks will now face St. Louis in the Western final. Joel Ward, Logan Couture, Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau also scored for San Jose.
In the NBA playoffs, Oklahoma City ousted San Antonio in 6 games with a 113-99 win.
In the Majors, David Price struck out 12 to improve to 5 and 1 as the Red Sox beat up on Houston 11-1…..Jackie Bradley extended his hitting streak to 18 games……Baltimore is just percentage points ahead of Boston in the American League East. The Orioles rallied from a 5-0 deficit to beat Detroit 7-5 and the Yankees lost to Kansas City 7-3……Clayton Kershaw threw a three hitter, striking out 13 and allowing just one walk as the Los Angeles Dodgers shut out the New York Mets 5-0. Elsewhere, it was Philadelphia 7 Atlanta 4 (10 innings)….San Diego 3 Milwaukee 0…..San Francisco 4 Arizona 2 as Johnny Cueto outduels Zach Grienke and St. Louis 12 Los Angeles Angels 10.
