A contrite Justin Trudeau is offering an apology for his actions in the House of Commons.
In an incident being called “Elbowgate”, Trudeau grabbed a Conservative M.P. by the arm and elbowed an NDP member.
Trudeau apologized for his actions.
Interim Conservative leader Rona Ambrose is asking the speaker of the House for the strongest possible condemnation for the Prime Minister’s actions.
Conservative M-P Peter Kent says the Prime Minister’s behaviour is worse than just a breach of parliamentary privilege.
“The prime ministers spontaneous crossing of the floor last night, touching of a fellow colleague, issuing profane comments…it is a contempt of parliament.” Kent said.

Trudeau admits the intervention was not appropriate and it wasn’t his job to try to expedite the vote that was scheduled to take place.
