Saint John Water now has a better idea what prompted the recent boil water order to be issued because of a malfunction with the chlorination system.
The investigation, now in its final stages, is suggesting successive power outages caused the pumps not to restart and there was a change in water pressure which prevented the backup system from kicking into gear.
Saint John Water says modifications have been made which make a reoccurrence unlikely.
A full report will be presented to the new Common Council on May 30th.
